YouTube as Informative Tool

Informative Tool

Informative tools are tool that helps share or describe information in a clear and simple way. It can be through visual, like charts, graphs and diagrams or digital like websites and apps. These tools help learning to be simple and makes it easier to understand, remember and explain.

YouTube is a great tool that can be used to make learning and teaching more fun, engaging and productive. It has millions of videos on different topics, and majority of them are educational. As a teacher we can use these videos in the classroom to make lessons more comprehensible for students. Sometimes, it is hard to explain certain things using books or words alone. For example, science experiments, the process of water cycle, or how machines operate are more understandable when students view YouTube videos.

YouTube provides good images and animations that allow learning to be more fun and memorable. It also helps students learn independently. Like sometimes we can give them a video to watch at home and then ask them questions about it in class. This helps them think, ask questions, and engage more in learning. Videos also help make learning easy for students who learn through watching rather than reading.

During micro teaching, I used YouTube to show videos about the process of water cycle after the lesson so that students have a better idea of the topic. The video explained the process in simple by showing how the sun heats up the ocean, how clouds are formed and how rain is formed. The video also featured a sing-along song, making it easy for students to remember the sequence of the water cycle process, making leaning enjoyable and engaging.

As a teacher we can also learn from YouTube. There are several channels where experienced teachers share tips, new ideas, and creative ways of teaching. This helps me improve my teaching skills and learn new ways of engaging students.

But we must be careful using YouTube. I preview the videos first to make sure they are accurate, age-appropriate, and lesson-appropriate. We should also encourage students to be smart viewers by checking who made the video and if the information is correct.

In conclusion, YouTube is a learning tool. It helps make learning more fun and easier to understand. When used correctly, it helps teachers and students learn and grow.
